My goal was to make something enchanting and magical and different from the smooth and fluid AI-created art I've been doing lately. I'm really happy with the result - the fairy roads in particular have a magical realism, Richard Dadd kind of feel. I like the crunchy textures and the warm saturated lights. Created in midjourney with keywords like 'cinematic, hyper-realistic, depth of field, illuminated, enchanted'. Upscaled 5x using the "Super Zoom" neural filter in photoshop (with enhance details on, sharpen at 5, no noise reduction) which created a lot of the artifacts and rough edges you would see in real photographs at such low light levels. Found a set of lightroom adjustments (exposure, color temp, clarity, dehazing, grain) that felt good, and batch applied so they seem like they could go together.
